Samsung announces a Ultra HD 85-inch 4K TV with ‘floating design'

We knew that Samsung won’t be unveiling it’s Galaxy S4 at CES, so what was the other big announcement we were hoping from Samsung this time at CES? Well, it was the company’s first 4K TV and Samsung didn’t disappoint. Today at CES, the South Korean electronics giant announced it’s 85-inch Ultra HD 4K TV- the U85S9 which comes with a ‘floating design’, wherein the screen rests between a metal frame and can be tilted up and down. Though, the complete assembly is quite big and might not accommodate in many living rooms.
The metallic frame that surrounds the TV isn’t just a show off and accommodates a mammoth 120 -watt 2.2 channel speaker system so you can be rest assured that along with spectacular video, you also get an equally amazing sound from the U85S9. Unlike Sony, which had promised it’s users native 4K content, Samsung is relying on it’s upscaling mechanism, which can enhance the content to 4K resolutions.
Samsung’s U85S9 is powered by 1.35 GHz quad-core A15 processor and the company has included it’s new Smart Hub software in to the TV along with S-Recommendation and voice control. The TV also gets all the standard ports like 4 HDMI ports, optical audio port, etc. The TV would go up for sale in March but Samsung hasn’t revealed pricing of the U85S9 yet.
Also, we were also expecting to hear more news about Samsung’s OLED TV’s, specially after it’s rival LG started taking pre-orders for it’s OLED TV’s but Samsung didn’t provide any details regarding the release date or price of it’s OLED TV’s.
