Announced along with the Sony Xperia SP, the mid-range Sony Xperia L is now available online in India at a price of Rs.18,990. The smartphone is available via an online retailer which is promising to dispatch it within 7 days of placing the order.
Going to the specifications, the high point of the Sony Xperia L is it’s 8 megapixel primary camera, which Sony dubs as a ”perfect smartphone camera experience”.
The camera features Sony’s new Exmor RS sensor with HDR support, but that’s where all the impressiveness comes to an end.
The reason we’re forced to say that are the other specifications of the Sony Xperia L, which fail to impress considering the price of the smart phone.
The Sony Xperia L comes with a 4.3-inch FWVGA (854×480 pixel resolution) display and has a 1 GHz Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor paired with 1GB of RAM and Adreno 305 GPU. Running on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with Sony’s Timescape UI on top, the Sony Xperia L gets 8GB of on-board storage which is expandable using a micro-SD card.
The smart phone gets a VGA front camera for video calling and for connectivity, it gets Bluetooth, 3G, Wi-Fi and GPS. The Sony Xperia L gets a 1,750 mAh battery, which promises a talk time of up to 8.5 hours.
The Xperia L measures 128.7 x 65 x 9.7 mm and weighs-in at 137 grams. If you’re thinking to buy the Xperia L, we recommend you check out the Sony Xperia SP as well, which looks better on-paper, and in terms of performance as well.

Those days were gone when the Canvas HD was the only affordable Quad Core device in the Smartphone market. Though the phone had got a great head start over its competitors, but now there are a large amount of "Affordable" Quad Core devices in the market.

In the list, now a new smartphone has arrived, the Zen Ultrafone 701HD. The phone's specs are quite reminiscent to the Canvas HD and is priced at Rs.11,999 which is much lower after the price hike of the Canvas HD.

The Zen Ultraphone 701HD is powered by a MediaTek MT6598 Quad-Core Processor and is coupled with 1 GB of RAM.

The phone is powered by a 1 GHz processor coupled with 1 GB of RAM.

The phone runs on Android Jelly Bean, but HTC has not specified it's version. But we think that it would be most probably the 4.1.2, which would be customized by HTC's Sense UI overlay. Sadly, the image indicates that the phone will not be running the latest version of Sense UI i.e. the Sense 5, and thus, it will miss out a lot of new features.

At the back, the phone will have a 5 megapixel camera with a flash which would be able to capture 720p videos.

The smartphone will have a usual sort of connectivity options which would include Bluetooth, GPS, WiFi, and 3G.

The phone will also have a 1,800 mAh battery, which might not be enough to run this phone through out a day.

The Desire L will come in pink, white and black variant but there is no word of pricing by HTC, but we will inform you as soon as we get any information about it.

We think that if the users want to buy the lower budget phones, they will probably go to the brands like Micromax, Karbonn etc. And also can get some good feature phones by the REX series of Samsung.

So at this point, Celkon has to work too hard to make its way in the smartphone race and to compete with the superior brands.

After launching the D1, Gionee has now launched the P1 smartphone. It is an entry level smartphone which comes with an 3.5-inch Capacitive touch screen display.

The Gionee P1 is powered by a 1GHz single-core Cortex A9 CPU. It has a 2 megapixel rear camera and a VGA secondary camera.

The smartphone has 512 MB of internal storage which could be expanded further upto 32 GB by a Micro-SD card.

Also, now we have the complete list of specifications of this upcoming smartphone.

According to the listed specs, the phone will have a 5-inch TFT LCD display with a resolution of 800x480 pixels. The smartphone will be powered by a 1 GHz Dual-Core MediaTek MT6577 processor, which is the same that powers the Canvas 2. The processor will be paired with 1 GB of RAM.

The phone will have a 8 megapixel rear camera with a  Dual-LED flash and a 2 megapixel secondary camera.

Well, the idea of an 3D smartphone is surely an interesting move by micromax but as we have said you earlier, most of the 3D smartphones haven't been successful. But the advantage Micromax has is that this device will be priced around 15,000 Indian Rupees but most of the "3D" smartphones have been around 30,000 to 40,000 INR.

Nokia has also tried to customize the UI a bit by pre-loading the device with some of it’s exclusive Apps like Nokia City Lens etc. And also, Nokia has teamed up with BigFlix to provide free unlimited movie viewing for three months along with the Nokia Lumia 720.

After launching the TA-Fone A37 in the market, Karbonn has launched its new phone in the budget section.
The Karbonn Smart A12 has launched in india for Rs.7,999 in India.

Quick Specifications of Karbonn Smart A12

=1GHz processor, 512MB RAM

-4.5-inch qHD display

-4GB internal storage. micro-SD card slot

-5MP rear camera. 0.3MP front camera

-Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich

-dual-SIM

-3G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS

-1,800mAh battery

The Karbonn Smart A12 is powered by a 1GHz Broadcom BCM21654G chipset, which comprises of a Cortex A9 CPU along with 512MB of RAM.

The smartphone gets a 4.5-inch display with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels. The smartphone gets dual-SIM card slots and offers 3G connectivity as well.

The device runs on the older, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, and there no word if the Karbonn Smart A12 will be updated to Android 4.1 Jelly bean. The smartphone gets 4GB of internal storage and a micro-SD card slot for storage expansion.

All over, its a good option to buy at this price value but we are not able to say that its the best.

After the rumours of the Micromax A115 Canvas 3D smartphone surfaced yesterday, we today have the news of another Canvas smartphone from Micromax which has popped up online. The Micromax A72 Canvas Viva has been spotted on the popular online shopping website, Flipkart. No information is there with us about the pricing of this device. But we think that this will be a budget device as its specs does not impress us in any means.

Quick Specifications of Micromax A72 Canvas Viva:

-5 inch WVGA display

-1GHz processor, 256MB RAM

-512MB internal storage (110MB user available), micro-SD card slot

-3MP rear camera, 0.3MP front camera

-dual-SIM

-Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread

-EDGE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi

-2,000mAh battery

As we move on to its detailed specs, the Micromax A72 Canvas Viva has a resolution of 800x400 pixels but is not comparable to any of the Canvas devices which have come in past because all of those devices had a more resolution than the Canvas Viva.

The smartphone is powered by a 1 GHz processor and has only 256 MB of RAM, which we think would not be enough to handle this phone for gaming but would only be able to do simple gaming.

Coming to the storage, we have only 512 MB of internal storage and from that, only 110 MB is allotted to the user which is very disappointing. But we need not to worry because it is the memory expandable upto 32 GB by an microSD card.

At the back the phone has an 3 megapixel camera along with a 0.3 megapixel camera at the front.

It comes with a dual sim card slots, but its again disappointing that none of them support 3G connectivity.

The Canvas Viva runs a much older OS which is the Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread. We expected atleast Android 4.0.4 (Ice Creamed Sandwich).

The Smartphone houses 2,000 mAh of battery which promises a talk time of 7 hours. Which is not bad for a 5 inch smartphone.

Looking at the specs of the Canvas Viva, it dosen't seems impressive like the other Canvas Devices and we expect this phone to be priced around 4,000 to 6,000 INR. If this device comes under 5,000 INR, it would be a great deal for those who are looking for a budget smartphone.
