Nissan India Raises Its Car Prices Upto 2.5%
Japanese auto maker Nissan Motor India has raised prices across three of its models in India by 1.5-2.5 percent, effective Feb 1.
The price of Nissan's hatchback Micra goes up by 1.5 percent, mid-size sedan Sunny will be expensive by 2 percent and price of utility vehicle Evalia has been raised by 2.5 percent.
"The price rise is to offset rising input costs and also ease the impact of currency fluctutation," said Nitish Tipnis, director - sales & marketing, Hover Automotive India. Hover is Nissan's national sales company in India.
Nissan's Korean rival Hyundai Motor India had on Friday raised prices of all its models by Rs 4,201-Rs 20,878, also citing rising input costs and currency fluctuation.
India's largest passenger car maker Maruti Suzuki had raised prices by up to Rs 20,000 last month.
