Symbian Out From The OS Race?

Symbian, the OS, has been dumped by it's biggest partner - Nokia.

After having relied upon different versions of the OS even until recently, Nokia has now declared that the 808 PureView is the last official phone from Nokia to run on Symbian OS.

Symbian and Nokia played a great innings together, but as times change, so do the requirements and the demands. Somehow, customers have not been very satisfied with the flexibility of Symbian as an OS.

With markets relying more on Androids and iOS's, Symbian was left far behind.

Well, better late than never, Nokia realized this and has now confirmed that no more Symbian devices will be launched by it anymore. Adapting to Windows Phone environments, this is last chance for Nokia to emerge again, otherwise it will come as very less surprise if we bid good bye to the Finnish giant in a few years from now.
